Apple Butter Project

The first batch this year was ready on the last Saturday of September 2009

This apple butter is made from local apples using a special recipe we have used for over thirty years. Club members and other volunteers do all the work of coring, quartering, washing, steaming and straining the apples, then cooking, seasoning and canning the apple butter at the Community Cannery in Riner, VA.

Well over 1,000 glass jar quarts of apple butter are made each year in September and October.

All profits from this major fund raiser are used for the Community Service projects this club completes each year.

If you wish to order apple butter from Mt Tabor Ruritan Club, complete and email this form. You will be contacted to arrange for delivery. The cost is $7.00 per quart. Packaging and shipping is extra (calculate rate), if not picked up or delivered locally.
